Grease on new pad material, problem?

I just received my mail order brake pads. The grease packet inside the box broke and I have grease on the material side of one of the pads. Can I clean it off? What could I use? Brake cleaner?

Are the pads ruined?

I guess one of the problems with mail order parts.

You could try to clean it off but I bet some of the grease has absorbed INTO the pads. Even if you did get them clean I bet once they heat up they will fowl the rotor too.

Call up the seller and let them know and tell them if they don't send you new ones free of charge (including shipping) you will spill the beans here on the interweb!
