engine stumbling

i have to keep my rpms up or my engine kinda stumbles. it used to be that i could co about 30 in 5th an i didn't have much power but it was ok. now if i'm going 50 in 5th and hit the gas a little it stumbles... it does it most of the time but not all the time. startin out it stumbles till i get up to speed an if i want the engine to run right i have to stay in 1st till about 25 2nd till 35 3rd 45 4th 55 an then 5th. it's almost like the engine is missing. idk what to do. it's gettin worse an it's driving me nuts. it doesn't do it if i'm not really pushin the gas or if i have it on the floor but if i'm just pushing the peddel some it stumbles. idk how else to say it. thanks for any help
-Jeff

You might have gotten water in your gas too. Try some HEAT.

My 83 used to stumble at lower RPMs, it was most notable to me in parking lots, say if I left it in 2nd gear and just let it lug me around the turns, etc. I adjusted my valves and the problem is gone. As a side effect, it used to also have some hesitation when cold, but that problem is gone now as well. I'd say give the valves a good adjustment, fairly easy, costs you nothing if you already have feeler gauges.

welp i think i found my problem. i seafoamed it on sun an it didn't really do anything so i wuz gonna do it again tonite an wait a little longer b4 restarting. so i went out started the truck opened the hood looked in an saw a spark going between the rubber boot that goes on the spark plug and the engine block. (an i wuz about to pore something flammable in near it) it wuz just once about every second. i turned the engine off an looked at the rubber boot there wuz a little dirt on it so i cleaned it and put it back on started the engine an i didn't see it again but i guess it's time for new plugs and wires. do you think it's the plugs or the wires? anyway i'll let you know if that fixes it.
