Dumb Frame Reinforcement Question

I was looking at Addicted Offroad's site (and drooling), I noticed the various frame reinforcements.

Do the front frame reinforcements (http://www.addictedoffroad.com/index...roducts_id=288 ) require the removal of anything other than paint and grease before installation?

I eventually plan on putting a winch bumper (read: big bumper to mainly push trees and Priuses out of my way) on my truck, and would like to reinforce the frame now, so that when I can afford the bumper I'll be set up to actually use it and not damage my truck.

I think that those probably reinforce the frame rail underneath the steering box, which is a weak spot when you start doing things like big tires and hydro assist, on a straight axle truck.

the crossmember that the winch bolts to looks weak, where it's welded to the frame rails, and there isn't a lot of room to reinforce those welds, because the radiator gets in the way... I plan on cutting some triangles of metal to 90 degrees, and welding the crossmember to rails.

you don't want the front crossmember falling out when you are on the trail, it's ugly... that happened to someone when I was up at the rubicon last October.
