Driving light advice

I have an opportunity to buy a set of PIAA 5162's for the distributor price of $152. I have been reading that PIAA's have an annoying brightly lit switch, don't have real covers to comply with local laws, and some of their parts are not the highest quality and the wiring corrodes. I have had one vehicle fire in the past due to auxillary lights, and do not want to repeat the incident.

Can I get comparable or better driving lights at a similar price? I am confused now from reading reviews online, which I should probably do less of.

Thanks in advance for confusing me further!

Hella's are a competitively priced, high quality option. I've always been happy with Hella's on my trucks. Lightforces seem to have a good reputation, as well as KC's.

Wow....really? The man needs a sign.

To reply to the question...
I have some ProComp "Explorer" lights that have worked really well for me....troublefree. Of course, I got them free when I ordered ProComp 9000 shocks several years ago....a little deal they had going. As I recall, they are priced very inexpensively, though.

I am SOLD on Lightforce lights, but they are a bit more expensive.

I used to have PIAA's. I had issues with them fogging up, and since I use the truck offroad, broke several lenses. Getting replacement parts is a MAJOR problem. Good brightness and good light pattern though.
