Dash Light Concern

I have an '89 4Runner with the 22Re. I have noticed in the last day or so that the 'charge' & 'brake' light on my dash have stayed on continuously for about 20 min. while driving. Is this a signal of some kind to indicate a problem or is it most likely nothing. Oh, and my e-brake isn't on when the 'brake' light is up on the das. Thanks in advance....

I think this is why the lights are there, to tell you of a problem. I would look into it.

Well, if memory serves, the brake light will come on if the fluid in the brake reservoir is a bit low.

Do they go out at exactly the same time?

Charge light might be a faulty alternator, or weak, or overcoming a significant load.... or slipping belt.
