i have an 82 model toyota. just had a valve job and the whole 9 yards done on the head. im looking to upgrade my cam. my other engine mods are a weber 32/36 carb and after market header(not sure which one). i was thinking the second to biggest cam northwest offroad offers would be good but its pretty pricey, i think its around 200 dallars. im wanting a pretty big upgrade with out sacrificing reliabilty, so a little rv cam is out of the question. i guess my main question is, does any other brands offer a variety of cams for the 22r, any help is apprieciated, thanks.

 

You have to realise that you arn't going to see a world of difference between a $90 cam and a $200 cam.

Engnbldr make pretty nice Cams. I'm running their 268 cam, and am happy with it. Their 261 is a little more aggressive.

 

well the main thing is i really wanted somthing to give me a little more top end power. i have PLENTY of crawling power due to 5.29 gears. also i have the old 4 speed tranny ,which sucks, so at 55 miles an hour the little ole truck is wound out running around 4000 rpms. thats if my tach is correct, it feels and sounds worse than that. any other suggestions? thanks.
