Brake and Fuel line repair...

the metal hardline going back to the proportioning valve on my 4Runner has rusted through. so I dropped the gas tank to investigate. and found that that line, as well as the one above it that goes from the prop valve to the front brakes, and the metal fuel line from the pump are all extremely rusty.

I'm pretty shocked that this happened, considering how relatively (for a MN truck) clean the frame is. Is this a common problem? what's the best way to go about replacing these? can I get them pre-bent anywhere for a reasonable price?

any way to prevent this in the future? just spray a little Rust-o-leum on the new ones before installing?

This happened to mine also, factory replacements were pretty decent priced, don't remember what exactly. Check with the discount parts guys here on Yotatech. It seems there is alot of mud build up in the area right behind the fuel tank where the lines follow the frame, likely the cause of the somewhat common rusting through there. Good luck.
