Interesting concept, but how would you use the compressor to compress air, when freon is the pumps lubricant as well as refrigerant?

Do a forum search, plenty of posts about this topic. You would use an in-line oiler. I have a AC compressor I've planned on doing the same thing with for a few years, just never got around to it.

Ya I have one.

Very simple. I even put an inline oiler in there, oh and an water/oil separator.
Ya lots of others have done this, tons of info out there. Nothin special is needed, oiler is a perk, prolongs the life of the compressor, but it will work fine without it.

Geezus. It's amazing how nothing is searched any more. Btw, the 3.0 a/c compressors aren't that great.........

think its the same pump as the 4cyl, just different bolt pattern. Had mine for several years with no hiccups. Oiler helps I'm sure. Without it it might have fialed by now.

I swapped mine to run as an Air compressor. It works well!! I still need to do a writeup on how I did it. I use mine all the time as well as air up buddies rigs on the trail.

He said stock AC compressor. You have to build custom brackets to make a York work.
