alternating blinkers
ive seen a post or two somewhere where they wired up the corner bulbs to blink when the stock turn signals (in the bumper/fender) are out, giving an alternating effect. does anyone have any more information on how to do this? ive seen it somewhere but i cant find it now, im not sure what to search for for that i guess.

You disconnect the ground wire for your front marker light and connect it to the power wire for the front turn signal light,
If your lights are on, it will flash alt with the TS, if lights are off, it will flash in synch. A certain American car company whose initials are GM has done this for years. Others have also, but GM was the first I remember.

I would also think that thru some relays you could do this also...
If you add a realy to the ground (IIRC toyota uses switched grounds) that uses blinker power to open the normally closed circuit you would turn the marker light off when the blinker is on. This method would only work with the parking lights on.
It seems it should be able to be done easier, but the only thing I can think to do to get this to work when the parking lights are off would be to get power before the flasher relay, then use a realy that is normally closed and when the normal blinkers are the ground will open the realy and turn off the parking lights when the blinker is on.
Yoda, I dont understand what hooking a ground wire to power wire would do, other than probally blow a fuse???

You don't ground the T/S power wire, you connect the marker ground wire to the T/S power wire. So, when the park lights are on, the marker is grounding through the T/S filament. Then, when the T/S is on, the ground is lost, and the marker goes out

It does not work if your side lights are grounded through the light housing
SAFETY NOTE! If you don't know what you are doing, don't attemt this.

Okay yeah that makes more sense.... but i wonder if it works with a switched ground, or if toyota even uses a switched ground...
