Ac Compressor For Onboard Air

Has anyone tried using the AC compressor for onboard air? I have been told that a guy in my town builds small compressors with old ac units. I will go and talk to him and see how it is done.

It definetly can be done. I dont know how exactly to do it but I know Pirate has a few threads about it. Not sure if anyone on here has a write up about it.

Yep, done lots of times. Key is to add an in-line drip oiler on the compressor inlet so that it does not dry out and seize up.
