88 4runner brake problem
ok, I have an 88 4runner, my brakes have no pressure, when i push them all the way down they stop but i have so much play before the brakes kick in, I bleed the brakes so many times and still nothing, no leaks any where, I even changed 1 brake line that looked funny and not damage but just funny looking so i replaced it with a brand new one. what do you think can be a problem?

Does your parking brake hold well without having to pull the handle out too far? If not, it sounds like your rear brakes are out of adjustment. Do a search on here for "adjust rear brakes". It's been covered lots so you should have no problem finding the info on how to adjust it.
To work properly, your front brakes will really not get any pressure until they get feedback from your rear brakes, which won't happen until the shoes start pushing on the drums. If the shoes start too far away from the drums, it takes a deep push of the pedal before the shoes touch the drums.

GSGALLANT I know what you are talking about, well my parking break is great normal operation, i do not have to pull hard and the parking brake cable is new and the rear drums got a new spring kit as well, i kept bleeding all the plugs and no air in the lines, i was thinking of taking my master cyclinder off and see if i can exstend the bar thingy that i think should have a bolt adjustment. if none of that works i will just go ahead and change the master cyclinder and booster.

That set screw should never need adjustment as long as the MC isn't changed out.
