No 84-86 truck or 4Runner ever came with aluminum side mirrors. They were all black plastic mirrors.

What style was it? Did it look like a factory mirror or one of the large bolt on kind you see on older model trucks?

It was probably a generic bolt on side mirror that you saw. A lot of people like to use those because they are bigger than stock.
I know my SR5 came with black plastic mirrors.

Sorry my fault I should of mentioned after market. Cause that's what the Chrome ones are. I've seen aluminium but that was back when these trucks had an after market. It wasnt a generic. Mirror it was an exact replica. Now its all for the tacos.

?????

It would make sense the chrome ones are factory I see them next to the plastic ones for sell. Maybe the version I saw was a chrome one all jacked up. Cause the 84-86 chrome have a weired finish

My 85 has aluminum ones that have a "support arm" that's on the bottom. Don't know if the previous owner put them on.

I just threw my SR5 chrome ones away I think. Driver side didnt have a lens in it, and I found some black ones on a later Runner that I snagged from Pullapart.

Stock "silver" mirrors when I got my 88...just plain plastic with some kind of chrome paint.

Are these the ones you are talking about? These are stock as far as I know, and metal of some sort. These are on an 86.
