C=cali emissions I believe

short block is rotating lower assy (ie block, pistons, rings, bearings, crank, etc)

long block is short block with the head. Sometimes includes timing cover, balancer, pan, and valve cover, depending on where you get it from.

Why would I have a 22REC that has only been in Colorado?

have you had it since new? Check your emissions sticker under the hood. Stranger things have happened!

The problem with Cali is i am in MI and Cali is a long ways away. but If I found the right one I would def fly out and drive it back!!

Here is another quick question. Anyone know how much legroom 4runners have? 1st Gen of course. I am 6'4" and wonder how well i will fit. I have sat in 1980's pickups often and I am wondering wether they are the same or not.

Easier way to think about it is that 22REC is the 50-state version, 22RE is 49-state. So, the 22REC can be sold in any state. On the early 22REC engine, there is little if any difference to the 22RE versions. Later models had a few extra sensors (like the EGR temp sensor and a 2nd O2 sensor behind the cat) and probably some changes in the ECU programming.
