1/4" spacers

When I put my trail wheels on (black steels), in the front I have these 1/4" spacers that just slide on over the lugs and then I put the wheel on. these are 100% necessary to clear my calipers. i am considering using the black steels all the time with my ATs but i'd need to run these spacers all the time. do you think its dangerous having 1/4" less lug stud for the nut to grab onto for almost 100% of the time?

I had them on my 96 4Runner, which I sold to my cousin a few years ago. They are still on there. THey've been on there for about 5 years now, no problems.

I also have them on my 88 4Runner. Been on there for a few years now, no problems.

Both have the black steelies.

Not sure what you have for tire stores down there... but in the NW Les Schwab carries lug nuts that have an extension of the threads. They are 1/4" longer and the extension goes into your wheel and spacer providing the same amount of thread purchase as before. I would look at getting those, but 1/4" shouldnt be an issue if you cant find them.
