The Tech Section

As many old timers here know, most of the Tech section articles were formatted by me after receiving the articles from members.
It was a long process for me to convert it all over to the HTML format first using Netscapes Composer, then Microsofts Front Page HTML editors after I got use to Front Page.

Most of these articles I put up in there are from when I was laid off and had plenty of time at home to work on them.
One reason the tech area has not been updated in eons, as I simply do not have the free time to work on it.

Moderator Bob has volunteered for the task of revamping it, and all of the existing articles will be redone in the same format as a forum thread, making it very easy for him to put up all of the articles and adding back in the pictures again with an FTP account here.

We will still have the current 5 sections for the Tech area as we do now, but no more having to format with an HTML editor.
We might as well utilize the software we have here.

There is no definite date when the new area will be turned on for public view, as this will take some time, but I wanted to drop a note here to let you know the Tech section has not died off, it will just be reborn, and then members can submit articles again to have them displayed here, and we will do all of the hosting for the pictures.

After the new section is completed, we will post in this forum section to let you know when new articles can be submitted

'Tis open for business folk's.
The old Tech section link has been taken off of the front page, but you can still find the link to it in the Knowledge Base link from the front page.

Many thanks to Bob_98SR5 & Robinhood150 for doing a ton of copying & pasting of the old articles over to a forum thread format in the new section.

If you would like to submit an article, please see "The Rules" link on the main page near the top.

This new format will make it so much easier and faster for us to put up an article from any of you who submits one.

Please address your articles to Bob.
You can PM him for his address on where to mail them to.

cool... thanks guys!

A suggestion? You might want to think about locking down all the threads so that people don't reply into them.

I think the info there is tried & true static, and the only person that should be able to change anything is the article's author.

Whatcha' tink?

They are locked.

No need to do this, perms are setup so you can not reply to them.

Mark, or anyone for that matter, as an experiment, see if you can reply or start a new thread in any of the 5 tech areas.
You should not be able to.

Most of the credit goes to Bob, I only did about 10% of them.
