Yota choking down

I have a 1993 Toyota pick-up on 44's it has a rebuilt 22re. When the truck is stopped and at idle and I punch the gas it stumbles and chokes down. Also, while driving down the road when I shift into the next gear I lose about 1500 rpm. I would appreciate any and all ideas to solve this problem.

what gearing you have? well for starters any 4 cyl with 44" tires would have problems if you "punch it" from a stop. just saying.

I would think with even the correct gears and 44's any engine except a SBC SBF or a SC'd 3.4 would bog down. Why are you punching the gas at idle from a stop anyway, it's not a drag car.

I'm sorry that I did not make myself clear It happens when the truck is sitting still in neutral, not moving. As for gearing I am not sure what gears are in it. I want to be able to run the truck before I worry about gears. I have checked: air filter, the throttle position sensor, and for vacuum leaks. I have replaced: fuel filter, spark plugs, rotor plug, VAFM, and the igniter. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

were you doing any maintenance before any of this started? ie timing chain job, oil change etc etc?

a video of this happening would probably be a good thing as well.

I rebuilt the motor in may and it was doing great then my brake caliper came off and broke my rim so it sat up for about two months till i got the money to replace it and when i got it replaced I drove it and new something wasn't right. It seemed as though the timing was out at first so i brought it to a mechanic to get the timing set because i didin't have a timing light and ever since then it has been acting this way.

you could try timing it the old school way keep advancing until the idle stops going up and starts stumbling then back off a hair

I reset the timing and it seems to do a lot better now. I am still having problems though when i drive it, it seems that there is a spot in the trottle when it gets no gas if i stay before or after it the truck runs good. I checked the fuel pressure and according to my research it is supposed to be between 27 and 33. My fuel pressure is around 22. I have replaced fuel pump, fuel filter and tried a fuel pressure regulator off of a different truck. Any suggestions on what could cause low fuel pressure?
