What is the pros and cons with using leaf springs instead of coils

Hello everyone I am planing on puting a sas kit on my 93 4runner the question I have is when I see other peoples rigs done they all have leaf springs on back my 4runner has coils and i am wanting to no what the pros and cons are for using coils or converting it to leaf spring in back.

Welcome to Yotatech.

Leaf springs are easier to setup, cheaper to buy and replace and flex well enough for the average wheeler compared to lifting with the stock setup with coils. Coils that tall tend to be unstable and unload on hills.

Here is an example of a 95 4Runner I did at my shop that had a rear leaf spring conversion.

Were would be a good place to find a conversion kit from rear coils to leaf spring

Whats the setup on that 4Runner, brian? 3" IFS elimnator and 3" leaf conversion with 35x12.50s?

I run the 5" rear 4" front (22re 5" front I was told is for the 3.0 and the 5"hd for v8 and other heavy motors) on my 4runner

4" front 5" rear
HD leaf springs are available in all front sizes now
