Can anybody tell me what this is and what this does. Vacuum switch sensor?? I broke off the tip when trying to replace a leaky hose. I don't know if it needs replaced or if I can just glue it back on.but I'd really just like to know what it's called and what it does. 1995 Toyota pickup dlx 3.0 v6 4x4 What is this part?-image-1086934259.jpg

Forget the name off the top of my head, but your right about a temp switch for vacuum lines. Part of EGR system. If your in an emission state you gonna want to replace it.

So what exactly does that do? I'm not in an emission state, but will my truck run fine without it? I know I need the bolt part screwed in so coolant doesn't come out. But i don't know what the 2 hoses that plug on it do.

No. It's the TVSV/BVSV/TVV. Which is for the EVAP system actually. It's a good thing. You want it working(emissions or not). And didn't I answer this already today?

Yes. I did!

It's ok Funky, you didn't get the memo, but thanks Hippy. Rock doesn't list one for my 3 port tvsv, looked one up at Amayama in Japan, waiting on a reply about shipping request. Found a boatload of parts there, it is the only place that I have found where entering my vin no. actually worked right down to my model number, last models made in 83.
My water bypass plate under the intake manifold has the pre-heater in the middle. Local dealer found a gasket for it from the 84 parts lookup, the 11 bolt, 83 only showed a 9 bolt without the pre-heater.

You can bypass it.
It opens when the coolant temp reaches 95 deg F which is quick.
The hose runs from the evap canister to the switch then to a hardline and then a hose to the intake manifold.
