what muffler

Ok I am going to put headers on a 22r.First question what header or are they all about the same in performance and quality?Second what muffler I dont want it to sound like the rice burner with a fart can.I have heard a cherry bomb on a 22re and it sounds terrible.Would like a deep melow tone if its possible with a 22r.

I have a 40 series flowmaster on my 2wd with a header and 2 1/4 inch piping. I love the way it sounds.

In my 4x4 I have a Downey header with a magnaflow and 2 1/2 inch piping. My 4x4 is significantly louder than my 2wd and the tone is alot deeper.

I suggest you look on youtube to find the sound you are looking for with the truck you have.

Good luck!

I'm running a flowmaster 40 with a Hedman header with 2.5 inch pipe. It makes me happy, and it's not high pitched.

Here's a video of what my truck at idle sounds like.

I have a TG header with a Turbo style muffler all with 2 1/4" pipe. I think its perfect for what I wanted - quiet cruising and little noise when on the pipe.

I went with a thorley header on my v-6 with a magnaflow muffler and no cat and it turned out better than we hoped. Deepest sounding toy I have ever had. You might not be able to run it without a cat depending on your local emission laws.
