what it this and how can i get rid of it

k so my truck is a 1991 4x4 ext cab auto with a 3.0l. its not the best but i like it. lately though ive been having issues with this thing in the pic and im not sure what its called but its obviously a brace. i want to know if there is a way to get rid of it or any aftermarket replacements that will help clear the texas sized amount of lower hang it provides me. its what i always seems to get hung up on and its just really annoying. any help is appreciated.

thanks

LOL. That's the transmission crossmember so, no, you can't get rid of it. Check out budbuilt.com.

ground effects seriously though, my buddy runs a metal fab shop in portland, he can work up any mods you want to make. you still need some sort of brace to keep your tranny and transfer case. Perhaps skid plates will help you

Just cut it off. You don't need those parts.

The title of your thread sounded more like a medical condition that you wanted to share with us.

Another vote for budbuilt. The v6 single case skidplate is nothing short of awesome, but still hangs down a bit, but now I know Im not hurting anything when it gets slammed. Ive had the weight of the truck on it several times and is still in great shape. You gain about 2" alone with just the skidplate, and it will protect your transmission too.

Dam I need to wash my truck. Haha

If thats still too low, look into a body lift with a drivetrain lift... You can order a budbuilt for a drivetrain lift.
