tcase removal
I just got my 4.7 gear kit for my single case, wanna remove the tcase by itself and leave the tranny in place...Doable right?
In what "order" should I do things? Would I block the tranny up and then do the bolts on the tcase to tranny then the cross member? Or what?
Is the tcase really heavy too?

I use my tranny jack when doing my t/c's
I block the transmission, you can let it down slightly at an angle but IMO don't allow the trans to fully hang as it puts too much strain on the motor mounts.

Mine was very tight (installed by Marlin when he set up my dual cases). I made up a steel bar to bolt into the edge of the flange that in turn was long enough to contact the frame. Then I slid a 3' long steel pipe over the breaker bar and was just barely able to get the nut to break free. Started with the pipe just under the frame and it bent almost to the ground before the nut broke free.

Stupid comment prolly but I cant believe how easy that was? Alittle confusing at times but really it is suprising how easy it was. Just put a jack under the tranny then pulled the tcase out, swapped the gears, pushed it back in place and viola. I sure am glad I finally did it, havent had to touch the clutch crawling yet! Thanks for the help guys.
