Can't seem to figure out why my truck is making this strange sound I'm not to sure but it sounds like it is coming from the carb. Hope you get a second to check it out thanks. I have a 83 pickup 22r motor 4x4 if that makes a difference.

Here's the link to a video I made.

Don't notice any performance issues and I'm not sure if its a vacuum leak. How would I be able to check if it is an vacuum leak?

Well there's quite a few methods of detecting Vacuum(air leaks).

-Course there is always visual inspection of possible damaged intake components such as hoses and gaskets.

-Spraying a soapy water solution on suspected area(s) and watch for it to be induced(sucked in) to the problem area.

-Using Carburetor Cleaner Spray on suspected areas you will notice a change in engine RPMs when the problem area is found.

-Smoke testing... induce smoke into the intake system and watch for smoke escaping from the problem area.

-Feeling around with just your hands some gloves may be helpful to avoid burns or cuts. Noticing the noise disappear and possibly feel the vacuum on your hand when the problem area is found...

There's many methods... Its all preference.
