stopping rust

I'm repairing the frame on my 93 pickup along with solid axle swap and rear lift. I'm wondering how I can stop rust on the inside of my frame rails. Its easy fixing rust from the outside but what about rusting from the inside out? If anyone knows any tricks or products used to fix this please inform me. I've looked on the internet but didn't really see anything that fits my needs. Thanks for any help guys!

i rigged a toilet snake and a small chain and ran that thing in every hole i could fit it in. then cleaned. then shot my sandblaster in there, and cleaned some more. then followed the por15 steps. it felt pretty good in there to the touch, but without a fiber optic camera or something crazy, who really knows.

How would I por15 the inside walls of my frame? I see a lot of crap in my frame so I'm guessing its started to rust in there. Por15 seems like it would work great to coat the outside. Has anyone ever heard out using heavy equipment oil based paint? It seems durable and I can get it cheap.

Back home in NH some shops used to spray hot used oil inside the frame, via sprayers with long wands. Sounded good to me. I know what you mean by rust inside. I have been to the welder more than once to fix holes.

i used a 1 gallon hand pump lawn sprayer with a wand. the wand thing didnt work too well so i cut it off, plugged the end of the house and drilled very small holes in the hose all around it. this worked really well, kinda made a mess but im confident i got some decent coverage in there. it also helped that i had the frame only so i flipped it 90 degrees each time to make sure all sides were done.

edit:also i think any finish would be better than none for the inside as long as the prep is done. good luck with the project.

I'm using three cans of Eastwood internal frame coating. It has a long hose with all around holes in the nozzle. I'm sure it clogs with the first use so I'll have to empty a can completly or waste it. They have good reviews in this stuff and there's a video on their site:

I hear tell the old timers use warm drain oil every fall.

There are drain holes in the frame but they get clogged real easy and the winter slop mixture cant get out.

Pressure washing helps but when it is cold out who wants to get soaked!!
