no your truck doesnt have one.. a solid front axle is much like your REAR AXLE!! but it is a turning axle.. its straight across.. it is much stronger than your ifs and also you would prolly convert to leaf sprung conversion so you would get tons of flex!!!
for most weekend warriors ifs is fine but a axle for 100 is a good deal!!!!
you should search because you have alot to learn, not trying to sound like a penis but there is TON AND TONS AND OTNS of solid axle swap info!!
happy searching!

First one IFS (what you have), second one SFA.
For some reason I haven't been able to get on Photobucket, so They are attachments..sorry
Oh and thanks Toyospearo for these pictures from the "Why does everyone trash IFS?" thread.

Before you go an buy it there is a lot of work and $$$ involved in the swap. The SFA is not necessarily stronger than your IFS (In stock form). Do you need one? Depends on how and where you wheel your rig. Do some searching and i feel you will realize your IFS is fine.

If you don't know what it is, if you already have it and why you need it. Just ship it to me - that's if its even a workable axle. Ya can't just use any Solid Axle, but one out of an older Yota would work just fine.

Do you have welding and fab skills/ equipment
or a pocket full of cash?
because your going to need one of those.
Not to be a dick but if you dont even know if your truck has one (let alone what years they were made in) or what the advantages are YOU DONT NEED IT
go find the limits of your IFS.

in the NW you cant find a good complete SFA for no less than 250 and one that is cleaned up and complete can go for 600, I pick up deals like that all the time jsu tto make a little extra cash, but you can tget a return immediatly and usually involves a little elbow grease.
should you SAS? idk i ran ifs for a long time with no problems, then I started to get into more difficult runs and breakage of the ifs suspension occured, break yours first then your ready, most mudding and easy to moderate trail runs dont require such extreme SFA susupensions, just good tires and a rear locker on an ifs you will get very far

If you have the urge to convert to SA, make sure you are getting a Toyota axle. There are others that will work but the Toy SA will be the easiest since all the spring mounts will already be in place.
If it is a Dana, make sure it is a passenger side Diff. No point in getting a Waggoneer Dana (for example) unless you have a Tacoma that would need a driver's side diff...
also check the side of the third, stock mini trucks are 8", the Land cruisers used a larger third if I recall correctly...
I would recommend that you inspect that axle closely before purchase. I lived in NY for 5 years and remember what the east coast salt did to axles....
--If it turns out to be one from an 84-85 Toyota (last one pictured) it the one to get...
examples of Toyota front axles and measurements:
Toyota Mini Truck Front Axle Identification
79-80 no gusset
81-83 short gusset (to u-bolts)
84-85 long gusset (past u-bolts)
Stock Toyota front axle measurements for comparison:
55.5" wide, 29" spring perch centers, '79-85 Toyota trucks and 4runners, SA Hubs
ID Toyota Mini Truck axles
79-80 no gusset
81-83 short gusset (to u-bolts)

84-85 long gusset (past u-bolts)
and if you get it is it will more than likely need to be rebuilt:
