Shopping for a yoga

I am looking to buy a used toyota 4wd truck, in the late 80's or under, I notice a lot of these trucks have modifications, I notice people change the gearing( 4.3, 5.3),what are the advantages(dis), of this, I am guessing it gives you more traction for off-roading.
Thanks

What is a Yoga ??

Changing the gear ratio allows you to use bigger (taller) tires with out sacrificing performance .

The down side is if you want to return to a stock size tire the gears are now to low numerically high.

These can be great trucks if you can do the work yourself If you have to pay for labor they get expensive fast!!!!

All the Toyota`s I bought took another $1000.00 or more in parts to catch up on neglected maintenance.

Yoga and yota are very similar. Put a out of shape person in yoga and they start to look better. Put a less attractive person in a yota and they start to look better.

Thanks Wyoming, I would want to run smaller tires, as this would be more of a work truck than a trail rig, how hard would it be to return the truck to stock?
