Sensor on 91 rear diff

I'm in the process of swapping my cab and box onto another frame and running gear. When i was cleaning up the frame i noticed a sensor on the top of the rear diff.Anyone know what it is for? I've got 3 other rear diffs here and they dont have it.

I kinda figured that is what it is. I'm putting a cab on the truck thats just a base model. Will there be a spot to plug the abs into?or if i want to keep it will i have to change the wiring too?

Depends on the year and not the model. 91 and older did not use the abs sensor. 92 and newer does.

yeah, this stuff is a no brainer... What else would there be a sensor on a diff for?

I'd drop the diff into or out of what cab you use... B/c it will be wired for it. It'll throw a code if you just bypass it... And rigging it to work won't be as easy as just replacing the diff and retaining ABS anyway....

You can block one off two ways... One is just cut the wire and leave the sensor in it, and Inchworm sells a freeze plug for it...

Well i kinda figured thats what it was,but wanted to make sure of it. Is this not the beginners forum? I'm not gonna be switching the diffs because the other has holes in it and leaks fluid. If i can just cut the wires or plug the hole then thats what i will do.
