Hey,

New to working on the 3vze... From what I've read there will be plenty of work to be done on that d@mn engine...

So... Is there an easy way to seafoam the 3vze? I haven't dove into it yet, but apparently the PCV valve is a total PITA to even get too... And that is what is suggested when you throw Seafoam in to clean up carbon and varnish.

Any suggestions are most welcome

And if anyone has a picture of where the brake booster hose is on this engine that would be awesome (it was suggested elsewhere)

 

im not fimilair with 3vz's but im guessing you can put seafom into the brake booster vacuum line. thats one of the common vaccum lines on all engines that people use.

ill just let others confirm this, or post up and easier/more effecient way because im not familiar with the engine, but i hope i helped

stick that hose into the sea foam dont totally submerge it stick it in and rev the engine a bit till it starts sucking seafoam in, get a cycle going till you have about half the bottle if not all of it, then shut the engine off let it sit for a few hours come out start it up and put on a gas mask it will smoke alot depending on how nasty the engine was.

i added some stuff, thats how ive done it in the past. or jsut thru the carburetor, id wait for a few more posts just incase im mistaken

HAs happened in the past

 

heres mine.
i used a hose that goes into the side of the upper plenum. popped it off, and poured it in. follow the directions for using the vac line.
ive sea foamed it twice, and once through the fuel tank.
runs like a charm now!!!! oh yeah, and ive ran it through the engine crankcase to clean it up as well. it came out pretty black when i changed the oil.
