SASing a 1989 4runner
I am going to ask what may seem like a stupide question, call me green I guess.
I did a search and have not yet found the information I am looking for.
I have a 1989 4runner in excellant shape that I want to sas.
I have a 1985 4x4 truck,solid axle with lift,all parts in excellant condition.
My question is,has anyone ever swapped to a stock set up,hangers and such.I don't want the extra x-member under the front,I want the wheels in the center of the wheel opening.Basically I want it to look like it was a stock solid axle rig before I started.Has anyone ever done this?
And I appologise in advance if this is elsewhere on the forum,I cannot find it.

A guy in one of our local offraod forums used the front frame section from an 85 under his 91ish truck, made a nice job of it.
I am not overly eager about chopping my nice rust free frame that way.

What is the benifet of the high steer over the push/pull/draglink setup.
I notice from reading here pretty well anyone that does the sas goes hig steer,I asume mostly to move the tie rod out of harms way?

I was wondering if there was a reason that push/pull set up had a flaw.
I am a heavy truck mechanic and thats all they all still use, with the exception of the few with rack and pinion, terrible pos that it is.
The push/pull/draglink set up has always worked quite well on those.I actually drug the 85 home last night and had a look at the drag link on it.
Different set up thats for sure.
