Fast Idle Cam Assembly

I re-built the carb on my '81 pickup yesterday and during re-assembly, I am struggling with getting the set-up right on the fast idle cam. I have looked at the diagrams in the FSM and carb re-build kit, but the level of detail is not adequate. Specifically, I am trying to determine the placement of the linkage closest to the carb body and connected to the arm that operates the choke plate. It seems that the set-up in the picture above is backwards, as when I turn the throttle the choke plate closes.

Can anyone post a picture of your set-up or any advice? Thanks in advance.
