Rusted out rear top shock mount.

I have a 92 toyota pickup 4x4 and the drivers side rear shock mount rusted off and now I only have one shock.
As far as I know im going to have to weld a new mount but I can't seem to find the part. Any helps appreciated

The mount you can get from a junkyard or maybe a big supplier like bilstein or OME. Hey your frame is going to need more than just a shock mount welded in. You're going to want to plate the entire length of that crack. These box frames are not meant to be c channel.

^^^ I Agree!
You have bigger problems than just your shock mount!

Fix your frame first and make sure the entire length of the frame is solid, then worry about the shock mount. Also applying a rust-proofing coating to the frame would be great while you are in there (just as long as it is applied correctly).

Good luck!

You might still be able to buy a new shock mount from your dealer.

Making your own is also a option depending on your skills

you might want to think about some work to the rest of the frame as well just saying .

take a look at the brake and fuel lines as well

What do you recommend for a rust proof coating? I would say por 15 but it is expensive. I dont have tons of money to put into this truck but I want to make it last.

This is how you should repair it. Frame work isn't cheap and shouldn't be skimped on. Especially if you want it to last.

I would follow the thread and advice above ^^^. I will be honest and say that I have no experience with rusty frames or rust proof coatings. I live in the Pacific Northwest and the only rust I have is light surface rust below the battery tray where a bad battery ate through the paint years ago. I lucked out not living in the rust belt. All I know about fixing rust has just been from what I have read on this forum.

POR 15 seems to be the frame coating of choice here though.

POR 15 is great. It is a very strong marine based coating that gets harder with exposure to moisture.

But POR-15 or not you have to shore up that gaping hole on the inner frame rail.

that frame is beyond reasonable repair, it's dangerous junk, i would strip the truck and see if you can do something like convert a 2wd to 4wd with the parts off of this truck.
