Rough Idle and Running Rich
i accidently started my truck with the ecu unplugged on my 86 toyota 22r. i changed the plugs but the truck still runs rich and a lot of black smoke comes out. I was wondering if the timing on ignition might be the problem.

22r (carbureted) or 22re (fuel injected)?
The "ECU" for the 22R doesn't really do much - just the electric choke IIRC.
In either case, the ignition is controlled by the distributor, not the ECU.
My guess is that you actually mean 22RE and the ECU reset to original specs, and needs some time to "learn" your truck again and adjust the fuel mapping.

Problems with my 86 22R
My toyota pick 22R runs very very bad. It idles up and down, it blows black smoke, when its cold it will run at higher Rpm's but run kinda rough still and when i turn it off after it's all warmed up and start it up again the idle drops down and runs alot better but still kinda rough. Do you think that's a problem with the choke or something?
