1990 4Runner SR5 4X4 V6.Does anyone know how many gallons are left in the gas tank after the light comes on? Ive got 272 mostly city miles and the light hasnt come on yet.Im running 31"A/Ts with a 5SPD.

 

I'd carry a 5 gallon jug of gas along just in case the light doesn't come on at all and then drive it until the light comes on or you run out of gas. Fill up as soon as the light comes on and you'll know how many gallons you added compared to the total capacity.

 

you have a 16.5 gallon tank all in all so how much do you put in at that point???

 

Usually 12,but,and this where it gets confusing.I have read on this forum that my tank is only 13.2.There is an official site that lists my tank at 17.2.You say it is 16.5.You see my dilema? Guess I could tank a can of gas and run it dry but I dont want to do that.Its not good on the fuel pump/filter.

 

honestly that is the only way to know for sure!! if you only do it once it is not soo bad just do not do it religously
