Smile Replaced the fuel filter today

Tackled the fuel filter today. Seeing as my 4Runner has 181,000km and from what I can tell, the fuel filter was never changed, I was a bit apprehensive that I wouldn't be able to get it off without breaking something, but I had no issues at all! The lines came lose with minimal effort. Had my container ready and didn't spill a drop of fuel. In hindsight, I think the hardest part of the whole process was FINDING the fuel filter... haha

So my first crack at doing work by myself and I was able to do the plugs/wires and fuel filter on a weekend. It's probably not much for a lot of you but considering i'm an I.T. professional by trade i'm feeling pretty happy with myself right now. Gotta love that Haynes manual! And the information on this website is invaluable as well.

Watch out man, the Haynes manuals have some bad info in them... especially wiring... you can download nearly any year FSM in pdf format for free.

congrats on getting that done on your own birchy

Let us know through your name or your signature what year Runner you did this on, others may have more specific questions.

I know my signature is "overkill" but then everyone knows which vehicle I am always talking about/fawning over....Also if you put a location to your name you may find others just right next door-next county over, that can help you or you help them.
