yeah they arent that much for bosch ones but i have a 95 4runner 4x4 automatic and its a bitch and a half to get to just find the starter im gonna have someone do it and the stealership wants to replace it and the guy i trust and does all the work i cant do will rebuild it for dirt cheap

Rebuild the stock unit.
Unless you can find a stock one new, and/or cheaper than the parts needed to fix your broke one. As far as parts, the contacts are cheap($20), and wear out the quickest(I replaced those first on mine). The drive, however, is pretty spendy($50). So instead of replacing the drive on mine(had over 220K miles on it) I bought a used stock starter(whole unit w/drive) in really good shape for alot cheaper($25). I'm keepin' my old starter for spare parts, all of which are still reusable minus the drive.
Check out http://car-part.com for a used one if your on a real tight budget.
