Removing seats/storage in '06 Access Cab

I'd like to remove the rear "seats" and "storage" areas in an '06 Tacoma Access Cab to put in more usable storage. Can the seat/storage unit be removed? If so, how? Has anyone done this sort of thing?

Thanks.

fair question

Yep, I have the 6' bed, but there are some considerations. First, we're building a house at a remote location, so I need all the bed space to haul stuff related to that. For example, I've been hauling rocks to repair the road. Wouldn't want to fill the bed with tool boxes and storage and ding them all up with rocks. In fact, there is a storage box in the bed for the chainsaw and machete I need to carry because the trees keep falling over the road. But there's work clothes, boots, etc. to be carried around.

Second, there's the question of additional security. Things that are out of sight and locked up stand less of a chance of being borrowed. Some folks like to hang out at the beach and rip off people (especially tourists) who leave things in vehicles.

Finally, it will be neater to put things in storage boxes and have sort of a deck over the entire behind-the-seat area. That'll give the dog a flat area to inhabit when he's inside and the neatness scores points with my wife and also appeals to me.

So, back to the original question. . .
