Rear window problems.

First off, thanks to yotatech nation. I took my 4runner on it's first official trail ride last weekend, pushed a few limits (as many as I could without my 5 year old daughter and 4 year old son would allow without screaming bloody murder) and the truck performed flawlessly. Motor was strong and front axle stayed sealed. Trailered it out to Johnson Valley to be safe, but drove it the 1 hr home. Thanks again.

Now the problem. I got home and tried to lower the back window to get everything out and when I pushed the button.... nothing. Anyone know how I can lower the back window, to open the tailgate, so I can remove and replace the motor. I thought about busting out the window, then realized that still wouldn't do any good because the taigate would still be locked.

Any help is appreciated.

holy smokes!! dont bust the window!! lol Have you tried using the key to put the window down? Have u checked ur fuses? Maybe the switch is bad, I would doubt the motor as the cause, its more likely a relay, fuse, or switch....get ur multimeter ready, and do some testing.

See the web page below for some troubleshooting tips:

Common on the 2nd gen 4Runners is for a door/window lock switch to be thrown or for the rear wiper to have been jostled out of position.
