Rear U-joint going out?

I'm heading up to pick up a 95 4 runner V6/Auto next week.

The owner states that it has a vibration in the drivetrain (not the steering) above 55mph. From what he's described to me it sounds like a driveshaft U joint. I'm not familiar with these trucks but I'm coming from the Jeep world and I know how to work on 4x4 (Had a 97 Cherokee and a 2003 Rubicon).

Is there a common failure point in the drivetrain that would be a likely cause of this problem? He's already had the tires rebalanced and the truck aligned.

He said he's had it in a few shops and they've basically said "Wait till it gets worse then bring it back" which I suppose is a round about way of saying "We've really got no idea".

Sorry I may have mis-spoken I actually already own this truck so I'm not looking for buying/selling advice. This is a direct technical question.

For the relative low cost, get some u-joints and press them in. If the truck is a 95, its got miles on it. Any odd squeaks or any jumpy feelings at slow speeds or reverse? That'd be your surefire sign.
