quick power steering question

quick power steering question

Swapped my motor. when putting on new power steering pump the valve in the back snapped... is it ok to run it like this because these little things cost $114

Assuming you mean the vacuum thingy on the housing, yes it's ok to run without it as long as you plug the vacuum lines from the motor. It's job is to raise the idle a little when using the steering.

Maybe you can return the pump (it is under warranty right? )

if not shoot me a photo of it and I will see if it's the same as on mine, as I did a power steering swap from a 22re but I have a carbed motor and don't need the valve.

Yea what I did was use a piece of extra fuel line I had laying around and ran it from one vacuum port to the other, as a loop. It's the factory power steering pump and I purchased the truck out of a junkyard 5 years ago, so I'm pretty sure the warranty is long gone haha. Besides, new power steering pumps do not come with this and only Toyota dealers sell this part which is frustrating. As for your 22re pump, I have a 3zve so their pumps are different but I think they use the same valves.
