I'd try to find a smaller tire, like a 315/65 because with too large of tires, you may have to increase your drive shaft diameter. Also, your 4Runner may suffer from incrased backpressure in the exhaust, because larger tires generate more heat that is not allowed to dissipate in the exhaust system as efficiently as with smaller, cooler running tires. you may have head gasket issues after that, and maybe would want to consider adjusting your cruise control. You can do so by using a small flat head screw driver, and turning the adjustable cruise control relay clockwise. Failure to do so could lead to catastrophic failure of the entire cruise control system, which in turn has a domino effect on many other important components in the car, such as the anti lock brakes, the fuel delivery system, and the speed and RPM read out on the guages. But if you drill a small hole in the top of your throttle body, you can avoid making any other alterations. I hope this helps.

^^^ Thank you for FINALLY clearing up that elusive "largest tire" question. A little involved if you ask me. I'll just stick with my 265-75s until I work up the gumption for that hole in the throttle body mod.

I say just do some and stuff 35s under there! gearing!? forget it. speedo adjustment? who uses those anymore!?

But the DRL disable and a SAS should clear up some of the exhaust issues because they make less heat than having extra lights plus the cv joints in the IFS setup always run hot

Yes, but if you upgrade your U joint bolts to the TRD replacement ones, you are sure to combat much of the extra strain that the larger tires cause. The TRD u joint bolts will not back out as easy as stock.

Oh yeah, almost forgot to tell you that the TRD upgraded shocks are a good idea to get you like 3 or 4 more inches of lift to run insane big tires

What does the small hole in the throttle body do for you?

Nothing, DO NOT DO IT. That was an obnoxiously horribly incorrect post because this topic has been covered several hundred times over. I appologize for the crude post, the size is likely a 285-75 or so.

There was a Ford broken down in the road today on my way to work....the poor thing couldn't even make it on to the shoulder. Ford owners should have to pay a special public nuissance tax when they buy a new vehicle.......

See what you could do to someone with that nonsense! Just refrain from posting if you feel the topic has been beaten to death, another person may hit on this thread while using the "highly regarded" search function & @*&% up big time. That crap pisses me off to no end, just don't reply...simple. You're going to cause some simpleton a ton of misery one day doing this & your karma is going to come back to haunt you on the trail!
