Came across a problem

Alright hows everyone doing. my problem is that when i shift reverse my rpms go high and it feels like i am in neutral until 3500rpm. The same thing happens when i come to a stop and try to take off. i just took of my intake from my 94 3.0 runner to change my plugs and wires and i used voodoos thread to replace all the hoses so im pretty sure i got all that correct. Maybe i still got something mixed up. this site has saved me from spending soo much $$$$$$$$ and i thank all you that have helped out.

i'm a stick shift guy so I don't know for sure, but I also don't think the average home mechanic can repair it. Start by checking the fluid, if thats good I'd take it to a transmission shop. With mine I just went and got one out of a junkyard.

well there is a kickdown switch that runs off the throttle linkage but I don't think that would cause your problems. I know little-to-nothing about an automatic, so I think If flushing it didn't help, I'd head for the tranny shop.

Sounds like a band slipping to me, might be time for a rebuild...I'm no tranny guy though & most of my experience comes from burned up turbo 350's from GM
