Plugs

Wanting to change the plugs on a 91 toyota pickup, any recommendations? I recently replaced the plugs on our 2001 chevy prizm, with laser irridiums, was so happy with that thought, maybe I should use those on the truck.

Are you working on the 1991 with the 22R-E that is in your signature?

The 22R-E works best with the factory recommended plugs:

Denso: W16EXR-U
NGK: BPR5EY

Yep. Toyotas run great on stock plugs. Spend the money you save on shifter set bushings from Marlin or something that you will feel a big difference with.

I get the standard Denso copper plugs for my 3VZE, they are affordable and seem to work the best. Less than $2 each at rockauto.com.

I get my plugs, rotor, and cap from the dealer ($43 dollars total from dealer). They are about the same price as the part store and much better quality. Stay factory on the plugs NGK or Denso. I get my plug wires ( Denso) from ebay.

I just replaced the plugs and it was like night and day, so I did not bother replacing the rotor, cap and wires( wich I did buy, will put them on some day)
