Which plugs and plug wires do you all use? I need to replace mine in my 93 v6. :walk:

 

I use the NGK plugs and Auroura wires.
The Aurora's feature a stainless steel core and provide better spark.

 

I use the Toyota Nippon Denso plugs, and the stock factory wires.
I have also heard of the ones that Mack uses, and would probably only be my other choice.
Toyota builds great ignition parts.

 

I truly believe that genuine Toyota parts are the best when it comes to replacement of OEM parts. HOWEVER... As I learn more about these parts, the more I beleive that many of these parts are not made by Toyota.

The Genuine Toy plugs are made by either Nippon Denso or NKG. The TRD brake pads were being made by Performance Friction. The oil filters are probably made by WIX or Purolator. There is no telling what other parts are outsourced, re-labled, parts sold at higher prices from the dealers. I kind of doubt that Toyota makes plug wires for sale here in the USA, I'll bet a box of dougnuts they are outsourced as well.

What we really need is someone who knows who makes what. I'll bet another box of doughnuts on the fact that info is legally protected by liscences and contracts.

 

I use Magnacore wires on my motor. I've played with souping up my cars and always used high performance wires. I was shocked :eek: to see the wimpy spaghetti noodle wires when I bought the Runner. I'm sure they are fine and do the job...I just like a more meaty wire...did'nt hurt that they were blue too... my plugs are stock...I better go change 'em soon...piece 'o cake with the 4banger.

Yeah, I have to change mine soon. I have not had a tune-up yet and need one I think. I think that I am going to stick w/ the stock plugs and wires. :beaver:

I changed mine out with the factory wires from toyota this past January. While it was in the shop for head work, the techs performed tune up work on it that included changing my brand new toyota wires with Car Quest brand 8mm wires.

 

I agree w/ butnut. The stock wires seem too wimpy that's why I'm running MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor wires on my 22RE. They're red too which dresses up my engine compartment nicely.

 

I'm not too sure if MSD makes 8.5mm wires for your application. You could check out their site at www.msdignition.com or try Magnecore's at www.magnecore.com

I had platinum plugs and Jacob wires with an omni-pak. I was getting 19 on the highway and the truck ran great. The pak went bad so I took it out and returned the plugs and wires back to stock. It still runs great and I now get 18 on the highway. I will stay stock from now on.
