x2 on Don't Use United Engine in Compton!!!
I had a 22r out of my '85 built by them. After 3 days the rear main seal blew out. Got it fixed and it blew again after 5 days. And mine leaked oil as well. After 2 weeks the front main seal blew and I had enough and went to a local mechanic.

You should build some wiring harness adapters, I will beta one for you. Then I'm in. I am a weekend backyard mechanic. I don't have the needed time or understanding to complete the 3.4 swap. I have read tons on it, but still don't have the confidence.
Whats so bad about a reman build 3.0L with a new radiator and exhaust system? Total cost $2200 Tops. Maybe a computer upgrade. $400

Not interested in selling harnesses as too many variables and too many headaches. On site 3.4 swap, no problem. All day long if the vehicle is here. Jon went to help a local do the wiring on his swap, moron had no clue what his stuff was year/model in reality.
For $2500 you can do a 3.4 swap easy if your diligent and frugal.
3.0 is turd polishing at best. It's underpowered, overheated and my squirrels can move faster. I will never run one.
Got an 88 with a blown 3.0 I just traded for last month.
I'll have maybe $1000 in it after selling off donor vehicle parts. That's the WHOLE swap completed and $400 of that was OEM parts I replaced so I'd know the condition of the motor and easier while on a stand.

What about options online for someone who needs it outside of the lower 48? SHipping can get tricky. It seems that most of these suggestions are nice if you're on the west coast.
