Piston ring install help
I'm rebuilding a 22RE from an 85 2wd.
cylinders are bored .10 over, new pistons and rings.
when I opened the box I was surprised to see two different compression rings with identical markings. and no instructions.
Ive been an auto Mechanic for a number of years, but this is surprisingly, my first time installing new rings, on new pistons in a newly machined block.
both compression rings are marked ITM 50. they also both appear to be straight, or square cut with no bezel.
Sounds like, the chrome ring goes on the top, with the darker, (cast?) ring on second, and they should both have the markings facing up. is this right?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
