Options for replacing rear lift blocks
ok so I bought a 84 yota pickup awhile ago that already had a lift on it but in the back it has 3 1/4 in. block if i get rid of the blocks and replace them with six in. trailgear shackles will i be around the same hight as i am with the block? And is it ok to do this kinda swap with the stock leafs?

why is there a block in the back but not the front?? and a 6" shackle doesn't mean 6" lift. Don't remember off hand what the length of a stock shackle is but whatever difference there is between the factory shackle divide it by two and it should be about what lift you would get from the shackle. For example, if OEM shackle length is 3" and the extended shackle is 6" that 3" difference. Divide that by 2 and it wold give you roughly 1.5" of lift, but at a cost of pinion angle and could very well require the use of shims to re angle the axle.

Going to a longer shackle will screw up the shackle angle. Too long and you'll invert your angle and make the suspension crappy. No, longer shackles are a cheap fix that will just end up causing more trouble. It's better to do it properly and actually replace the springs.
