Hi Guys, I am new so bare with me. I have just purchased a 93 4 Runner with 195K that is perfect inside and out, except...it has a valve problem with the #3 cylinder, low comp. 30lbs. Two reliable mechanics checked it and did valve leak test etc. Checked and it previously had the Toyota head recall job done, etc. My problem is; do I fix it (valve job) or go to a crate motor? I have the means to do both, but need some good advice. It is a 3.0 V6 fuel injected, and the rest of the vehicle is in excellent shape. It's a 4WD, and very well taken care of. Is their a particular motor(yr) i should look for? Or a particular supplier? I really need the help in that this vehicle will be for my young son who has a new baby and needs a reliable rig. Any suggestions?

Search 3.4 swaps, if you are going to spend the time and money, you might as well do it right. Personally, I would just fix it, Welcome to Yotatech.

 

Thanks, being new and all, what years are the 3.4 involved and how difficult is it to swap a 3.4 out for the 3.0? Is it a major deal and all.
