Front Diff Question

I think this is a dumb question....always a good way to start! I have searched and I guess since I did not find an answer maybe that is my answer.

I am parting out a '90 4runner and want to keep the rear diff for a spare part as it is a 4.55 gear for my sas truck. (auto tanny 22re axle coded G252)

My question is.... go easy on me guys.... should I rip out the front diff as well? I know it will NOT go into my front solid housing, but can I take the ring and pinion out to have them installed into another rear third?

Like I said probably a dumb newbie question as I know the front is a 7.5" and the rear's are 8" but I would hate to send it to the scrap heap and I could have used it.

Thanks in advance for the tolerance and most likely some of the that a lot of guys are doing right now.

don't throw it out, I am sure someone will want it since it's a 4.56.

I had to hunt down a front 4.56 third. The rear one was easier to find. Leave it in one piece and get $100-$150 for it.

True. Keep it and sell it later. Lot of folks are looking to keep the IFS and want to regear to a better ratio.
