Noob question...stinger?

what is the benefit of having a "stinger" on the front bumper? saw a video on youtube.com of a guy using his stinger to push another truck up and over after being high centered...what other uses do they have?

I think they are a little bit of insurance on the trail against damage, and or saving ones ars in case of a nose over, or a roll over.

makes sense...im gonna start building a bumper pretty soon just trying to decide if i should include a stinger or not...sometimes they look good, sometimes they look ridiculous...i guess i could always tack one on to see if i like it or not. i dont plan on rolling or nosing over at any point, but then again i dont think anyone does lol

I like the pointy style. I would fill in some of the voids with say diamond plat, flat black, or satin black.

can serve a few purposes:
can prevent an endo when you are nose down
can help prevent your engine from getting munched in a roll over.

now would the stinger be a bad place to pull from? would the leverage rip it off the front of the vehicle?

Well I imagine the pull point would be the receiver mount, or winch mount

haha yea problem with the beamers tho...the ratio of money in to fun out sucks! cant do anything in them (except drive really fast on mountain roads hehe) just driving down a dirt road is pushing it lol. two out of the three are for sale, trying to get out of the BMW hole and fund the 4runner!
