need some advice

hi all,

I have a '81 toyota that I am wanting to build into a good daily drive and logging roads expedition truck. I don't know hardly anything about toyota's, so bear with me. I want to get the part together this summer so I can build it through the winter. I wanting to put a mercedes 5 cylinder diesel, 5 toyota trans out of a '85 or there abouts, 3-4" spring lift, build a flatbed, bumpers. what and where should i get a lift parts from? any help, ideas would be great.

Budget? Location?

Also, how do you plan to mate the benz block to the toyota bellhousing. you might be better off getting the trans that comes with the engine and lowering your diff gearing.

straight axle lifes are pretty easy, but good one will cost a little bit. try marlin crawler's flex kit. kinda pricey, but i've heard good things. also, consider a hi-steer kit if your gonna run large tires.
