motor frame mount problem!
so.... i paid a guy to weld in motor mounts for a 1987 22re in my 91 because i was working to much. he messed them all up! i know that they are in the correct spot because we bolted the married motor/trans to the crossmember to get the length. he didnt use the mounts i gave him and welded someother ones level with the frame and not centered. does anyone know the height above the frame they need to go or where i can buy new mounts to try and make it easier

Was this a case of giving a person you know a couple bucks to do this??
Is this a real fab shop ?? If so they should fix the problem!!! What was the reason given for changing things??
The only place I know would be used part vendor or new from the dealer.
You can Fab up your own if need be.
Perhaps someone with a engine out can tell you the proper placement

Cut off old crap. Clean up. Bolt on new motor mounts.
Hold everything up with cherry picker with tcase cross member bolted in and tack new ones to frame.
Find new friend that can follow directions and weld.
Who isn't a J*** person

Be nice to know where you are ?
If your local Toyota dealer doesn`t know you or are to lazy they do have a tend to blow some people off.
Then you always want to go with your VIN in hand it is the way the parts computer is geared to find the correct screen.
I know there is at least one Toyota Dealer in the vendor section There are several used parts dealers as well. I have used Dave`s Off Road Performance Toyparts A few time to buy new and used parts with no problems
I guess when you deal with Je*p people you get this kind of work maybe there is a reason he is out of work.
I would be sure to enlist his help to do the grunt work unless that would get done wrong as well:jessica:

I think he means the metal mounts, in which case you'll have to make your own, or get some off a toyota at the wreckers.
Check on TG for the bulletproof mounts.. they're close to solid but they have a bushing.
Otherwise, go on summit and find a generic mount kit for any engine to any frame..
